Administration
Shalyn Howe is the Principal of Esther Elementary in the Lebanon R-3 School District, where she leads the district’s youngest learners with a focus on building strong academic and social foundations.
Mrs. Howe began her leadership journey at Esther as an Assistant Principal, serving for six years before being promoted to Principal in 2017. Since then, she has worked alongside staff and families to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where Pre-K through first grade students are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive.
Her leadership has been recognized regionally—she was named an Exemplary New Principal for Southwest Missouri, highlighting her dedication to student success and innovative approach to early education. Under her leadership, Esther also launched Kinder Jackets, a program designed to support kindergarten readiness and ease the transition for students beginning their school journey. She also helped establish creative initiatives such as the Esther News Network (ENN), where she visits classrooms to celebrate students, share birthdays, highlight life goals, and build a strong sense of school community.
With a deep commitment to collaboration, Mrs. Howe works closely with families, staff, and community partners to ensure Esther Elementary lives up to its mission of preparing every Yellowjacket for lifelong learning.
